‘한한령’으로 중국 활동이 뜸했던 한류스타들도 잇달아 러브콜을 받고 있습니다.
최근 흥행 돌풍을 일으키고 있는 영화 ‘신과 함께’의 중국 진출 기대도 커지는 분위기입니다.
이동훈 기자입니다.

걸그룹 소녀시대의 윤아가 다양한 매력을 발산하며 카메라 앞에 섰습니다.

중국 잡지인 홍슈 그라치아 1월호의 모델로 선정돼 화보 촬영을 하는 모습입니다.

「검은색 드레스 차림의 윤아는 새해부터 중국 유명 잡지의 표지를 장식했습니다.」

「이 같은 움직임을 두고 중국 포털사이트 텐센트와 시나닷컴 등은 “한류 여신 귀환할지 주목된다”고 보도했습니다.」

지난달 문재인 대통령의 방중 이후 한중관계가 개선되면서 ‘한한령’도 점차 풀리는 분위기입니다.

「지난달에는 미스에이 출신의 수지가 중국 스샹코스모폴리탄에 공동 표지모델로 나왔습니다.」

배우 박해진은 어제(16일) 중국 산둥성에서 열린 대규모 행사 ‘2018 녹상·소자풍상 시상식’에 초청됐습니다.

▶ 인터뷰(☎) : 배경렬 / 레디차이나 대표
– “한국 배우가 찍어놓은 드라마나 영화, 광고들이 있는데 중국 전역에 방송돼야 하는 게 있고요. 콘서트나 예능프로그램, 드라마, 영화, 광고 시장에 한류 배우들이 진출하는 단계적 절차가….”

국내에서 1,300만 관객을 돌파한 영화 ‘신과 함께-죄와 벌’이 한한령을 뚫을 수 있을지도 관심입니다.

대만과 홍콩에서 흥행에 크게 성공한 ‘신과 함께’는 이미 중국 국가광파전영전시총국에 상영을 위한 심의를 신청하고 결과를 기다리고 있는 상황입니다.

트럼프 대통령 장녀 이방카의 딸 아라벨라, 밤에 손전등을 키고 춤 연습을 할 정도로 K팝 팬이라고 알려졌죠. 

대통령의 외손녀까지 매료시킨 한류가 이제 먹고 마시고 입고 즐기는 미국인의 일상으로 파고들고 있습니다. 

뉴욕 박용 특파원의 더 넓은 뉴스입니다.

뉴욕 한복판이 K팝의 열정으로 뜨겁습니다. K팝 춤과 노래의 매력에 푹빠져 있는 젊은이들. 도미니카공화국에서 미국으로 이민 온 임마뉴엘의 꿈은 한국에서 K팝 가수로 데뷔하는 겁니다. 

[임마뉴엘 애덤스/미국 뉴욕] 
“저의 롤 모델은 (K팝스타) 비입니다. 그는 노래와 춤을 매우 잘해요. 그가 저와 다른 사람에게 영감을 줬어요. 저도 다른 사람에게 영감을 줄 수 있어요.” 

사만다는 아예 미국에서 K팝 스타일 가수로 데뷔하고 싶어합니다.

“안녕하세요. 저는 사만다입니다. 나는 독특한 K팝 스타일의 노래와 댄스를 미국에 선보이고 싶어요. 아무도 하지 않는 분야거든요.” 

K팝이 한국을 넘어 세계의 브랜드로 도약하고 있는 겁니다. 

트럼프 대통령의 외손녀 아라벨라도 밤마다 손전등을 켜놓고 춤연습을 하는 K팝 팬입니다.

“한류를 타고 한국 서비스기업도 글로벌 브랜드로 도약하고 있습니다.” 

뉴욕 타임스퀘어에선 방탄소년단 멤버들이 직접 디자인한 캐릭터 상품을 판매하는 한국의 글로벌 캐릭터 매장이 인기입니다.

“(캐릭터 상품을 산 이유는 BTS(방탄소년단)를 매우 좋아하기 때문이에요. 글쎄요. (캐릭터가) 매우 귀엽잖아요. 그들(BTS)을 응원하고 싶어요.” 

한국 서비스기업과 K팝 브랜드의 시너지 효과도 큽니다. 

[현혜/라인 프렌즈 타임스퀘어점 부점장] 
“BTS와 라인 프렌즈 브랜드 모두 글로벌 브랜드이기 때문에 서로 협업하면 시장 확장에 도움이 됩니다.” 

뉴욕에서 활동하는 한국 패션 브랜드는 뉴욕 JFK국제공항 면세점에도 팔리고 있습니다.

“다양한 고객을 만날 수 있고 세계 유수의 명품 브랜드와 한 공간에 경쟁할 수 있어서 이번에 공항에 입점하게 됐습니다.” 

“한국 문화도 알고 영어에 능통한 젊은 한인들이 한류 현지화의 첨병으로 맹활약하고 있습니다.” 

30대 젊은 한인이 창업한 맨해튼의 한식 스테이크 식당은 올해 뉴욕 미슐랭 가이드의 별을 땄습니다. 

요식업계의 오스카 상으로 불리는 제임스 비어드 상 최종 15개 후보로 선정됐습니다. 

[사이먼 김/맨해튼 레스토랑 꽃 사장] 
“우리 한식은 충분히 세계적 수준이라고 생각하고요. 단지 현지화하는 것에 신경을 쓸 수 있다면 굉장히 무궁무진하다고….” 

한류를 이용한 한인 2세대들의 창업 열기도 뜨겁습니다. 

[셜롯 조/미국 K뷰티 온라인쇼핑몰 쇼코글램 창업자, 한인2세] 
“사람들이 K-뷰티(한국 화장품 산업)에 매우 흥분해요. 혁신적이고, 가격도 적당하고, 품질도 뛰어나기 때문이죠.” 

일본 문화가 오래 전 서구인의 일상생활로 스며든 것처럼 한류 현지화가 앞으로 과제입니다. 

“젊은 한인들이 가세한 한류가 미국인들의 일상으로 깊이 스며들고 있습니다. 뉴욕에서 채널A 뉴스 박용입니다.

The Korean Wave which has heated up Taiwan is currently sweeping over its distribution channels. In fact, the top distribution channels of Taiwan gathered all together for the sake of buying Korean products. Our Olivia Hur has the details.

[Reporter]
Here is the meeting place for the top Taiwanese distribution channels and Korean home product companies.

From Korean cosmetics to liquor, there goes an active counsel for attracting so called ‘Made-in-Korea’ products.

The most noteworthy thing is that Taiwan’s top five distribution channels including the Pacific SOGO Department Store, the number one department store in the nation and the RT-Mart, one of the Taiwan’s top three discount marts.

The RT-Mart, which already offered Korean specials in Taiwan, is planning to strengthen their Korean food line-up through the event.

~ We appreciate KOTRA Korea, for inviting RT-Mart to join this exhibition and our company RT-Mart would love to introduce Korean products in Taiwan to our Taiwanese customers.

The ‘Taiwanese Global Distribution Channels Consultation Invitation’ was held this past December second at the KOTRA headquarters with the buyers of the top five distribution channels in Taiwan in attendance.

At the event, forty of Korean companies also visited to hold business talks over Korean home goods such as clothing, cosmetics and foods.

~ Especially with the significant rise in Korea’s national brand power and the Korean wave, items like food, cosmetics, beauty products, and fashion accessories are very popular with the representative distribution channels of Taiwan.

Taiwan is the country where the term ‘Korean Wave’ originated. This event is expected to offer a chance for the exports of Korean products to soar.

한류열풍 대만 유통기업 강타

대만을 뜨겁게 달군 한류열풍이 유통업계에도 불고 있습니다. 한국 제품을 구매하려는 대만의 최대 유통기업들이 한자리에 모였습니다. 허영민 기자가 취재했습니다.

[리포트]
대만의 대표 유통기업들과 국내 생활소비재 관련 기업들 간의 만남의 장입니다.

국산 화장품에서부터 주류에 이르기까지, 소위 ‘메이드 인 코리아’ 제품을 자사에 유치하기 위한 활발한 상담이 이어집니다.

대만 최대 백화점인 퍼시픽 소고 백화점과 대만 3대 할인점인 알티-마트사를 비롯해 대표 유통기업 5개사가 동시에 방한했다는 점이 눈길을 끕니다.

올해 이미 매장 내 한국 특판전을 개최한 바 있는 알티-마트는 이번 상담회를 통해 향후 한국산 식품 라인업을 한층 강화할 계획입니다.

~ 우리 알티-마트를 이번 행사에 참여하도록 초청해 주신 코트라에 감사드립니다. 알티-마트는 타이완 고객들에게 제공해 주기 위해 타이완에 한국 제품들을 기꺼이 소개하고 싶습니다.

지난 2일 코트라 서울 본사에서 개최된 ‘대만 Global 유통기업 초청 상담회’에는 대만 최대 유통 바이어 5개사가 참가했습니다.

행사장에는 한국기업 40개사가 방문해 패션의류와 화장품, 식품 등 국산 생활소비재를 중심으로 활발한 수출 상담을 벌였습니다.

~ 특히 높아진 국가 브랜드 이미지와 한류열풍에 따라서 영향을 받는 품목이 식품, 화장품, 미용용품, 또 패션 액세서리 등이 굉장히 인기를 얻고 있는데 대표적인 대만의 유통기업들을 모셨습니다.

‘한류’라는 용어의 발원지인 원조 한류 국가 대만. 이번 행사가 한류 상품의 수출을 대폭 확대할 수 있는 기회가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대됩니다.

Bang”s specialises in the highly-styled Korean hairdos that are now popular in the Philippines.
Cathy Domingo is having her hair curled to resemble South Korean pop stars and actresses. It”s all the rage she says:
“This is the most popular style now because of the Korean thing. Korean hair, Korean style, it”s very hip.”
But hair is just one small area where Korean culture is influencing the Philippines.
A quick stroll down a typical street in Manila and there are Korean pharmacies, grocers, restaurants and posters with Korean celebrities advertising products.
All across Asia, South Korean pop culture – known as K-pop – has taken root. It”s a growing social trend in the region, making inroads even into English-speaking countries like the Philippines, until now an undisputed bastion of American pop and Hollywood movies.
The South Korean government operates a “Korean Wave” index to gauge the temperature of its cultural exports to neighbouring Asian countries. The “hot” index is based on surveys of local followers of K-pop and the number of Korean movies, TV series, music and games productions in circulation.
In 2009, Japan topped the index, with Taiwan taking the top spot the following year. China, Thailand and Vietnam are the other three countries on the list.
The state-funded Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange, which manages the survey for the government, said Malaysia will be a new addition this year, while the Philippines is expected to join as early as next year.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak is counting such an influential cultural export as part of his country”s achievements. K-pop is put on a par with the Korean economic rise, the Group of 20 nations meeting, winning the bid for the Winter Olympics bid and hosting the World Cup and the Daegu Athletics.
“The Republic of Korea is making young people all around the world wild with K-pop,” Lee said in a speech (August 15, 2011) marking Korea”s liberation from colonial rule by Japan from 1910-1945.
Here at the University of the Philippines lecturer Schedar Jocson is giving a class.
She has written a paper on the influence of K-pop on the Philippines:
“Nowadays when we talk about K-pop it”s about the popular culture of Koreans, particularly South Koreans. Going inside or trying to make their way, their mark into the Philippine mainstream popular media.”
She believes many young Filipinos are drawn to Korean popular culture because it touches them more directly:
“K-pop media or K-pop culture is more expressive, it dealt further into the emotions of the Filipinos.”
Media commentators date the Korean invasion to the start of the Millennium when South Korean dramas flooded TV schedules with catchy love stories, attractive young stars and exotic scenes of cities and the countryside.
In the Philippines, local networks dubbed them into Tagalog, the national language, and assigned Filipino names to the characters, making it easier for local viewers to remember and identify with them.
Dramas that won early following include “Winter Sonata” – with heartthrob Bae Yong-joon and actress Choi Ji-woo – “Stairway to Heaven” starring Kwon Sang-woo, and “Full House” with popular singer-actor Rain and actress Song Hye-kyo.
More than a hundred dramas have since been watched by Filipinos caught up in Hallyu, or the Korean Wave.
Viewers like Myrna Gain are huge fans of Korean dramas:
“I have been watching Korean dramas since they started, I have always monitored it because it”s very good and I also want to learn how to cook Korean Food.”

中 사드보복에 상반기 ‘한류’ 흑자 1년 반 만에 최저
South Korea’s profits from “Korean Wave” or “Hallyu” products for the first half of 2017 have slumped to an 18 month-low.
According to data released by the Bank of Korea on Monday, profits from exporting South Korean music, film, or TV programs tallied at some 180-million U.S. dollars in the first six months of the year.
The figure is a 23 percent decrease from the latter half of last year, and a whopping 100 million dollar decrease on-year.
Since 2014, South Korea had been enjoying a steady increase in profits — even surpassing the 500-million dollar mark last year.
However,… diplomatic tension with China over the deployment of the U.S. missile defense system THAAD and Beijing’s ongoing economic retaliation have brought that trend has come to a grinding halt.
